Child Support - How Much Is Too Much?

Dear jabin:

Greetings. Child support can be up to 40% of your gross pay, so no, I don’t think that you are getting hosed, although I am sure that it feels that way. Thank you.

My total support payment is currently just over 1/4 of my take home pay each month ,the biggest part is for the “Extraordinary Expense” of private school which I somehow got stuck with paying 100% of.
The Ex and I have a total take home income within 100.00 of each other.
Am I wrong or am I getting hosed?
