Child Support Modification

#1

I have read child support guidelines and looking for anything in the NC statutes, but cannot find information on a question. Is there a specific age when child care is no longer included in child support calcs? I know for tax purposes, a parent no longer get a child care credit after a child turns 13, unless the child is incapable of self-care.

There doesn’t seem to be anything defined in the guidelines. I would imagine that as long as the parent had a valid and reasonable need to continue after-school care, it would continue to be included in child support calcs.

Can you provide any additonal information?

The court may order payment of childcare expenses as long as they are necessary.
