Work related child care expenses

Is there a general age at which child care cannot be claimed for after-school care? My ex claims to have been paying her mother $100 per week to watch our son after school, which affects the monthly child support total. Our son is 12 years old and I’m pretty sure he is home by himself after school.

Thanks

There is no general age in which work-related child care removed from the child support calculation as all children are different. You may wish to consider filing a motion to modify support and force your spouse to prove she is actually paying her mother for your son’s care.
