Division of bills

Dear Soulshine:

Greetings. It does not matter who’s name the bills are in. Debt accumulated during the marriage and prior to the date of separation are marital regardless of who’s name is on the debt. The marital debt is generally split evenly. Best of luck.

[?]What is the precedure on seperating bills that occured during the marraige and after the seperation? As far as I know the unpaid bills are either in his name or in my name, not both except for one that happened after we seperated and I except full responsibility for that one.

Thanks soulshine.
