My question is has the law on the waiting time period to obtain a legal divorce in the state of NC changed? I was told by a friend that the waiting time changed in January of 2004 from 1 year to 6 months. Could you please clarify this information for me? Thank you for your time
Sorry Sandi but your friend is mistaken. The one year requirement still exists. There are things you can do in the interim but filing for divorce is not one of them. Hope this helps.
