Electronic communications

What is the law regarding forwarding email from a minor’s mailbox that is a part of my account to my mailbox? As a matter of routine security I monitor all incoming email to my child’s account using parental controls. Could the email from ex-spouse to child be used as evidence if the ex-spouse writes something inappropriate in the email?

If the child has a different account, for example at school, does a parent have the right to monitor that account?

Thanks

I do not know of any law that prevents you from monitoring your child’s email account and/or forwarding messages to the mater account, and those emails could be used as evidence in court.
As a parent you have the right to monitor your minor child’s email.
