Equitable distribution and absolute divorce

A complaint was filed for absolute divorce. The defendant was served 30 days ago, and she did not answer the complaint within that timeframe. The hearing is set for May 29.

Does the defendant’s timeline to file for equitable distribution end within the 30 days? Or, can she still file for ED up until the absolute divorce is granted on the 29th of May?

She can file a Motion or Action for Equitable Distribution anytime up to when the absolute divorce is granted. If service was by publication, she will have 6 months after the judgement to file for Equitable Distribution.
