Ex Moving 60 Miles Away - Custody Mod

We have been 15 minutes apart since our divorce, but he is now moving 60 miles away. Our order states that I am to do 100% of the drive, which I consented to at the time seeing as we were just 15 minutes apart. I have suggested to him that we meet 1/2 way for exchanges given his move, but he says that the “visiting” parent is solely responsible for transportation. We have joint custody…

Is it true that the “visiting” parent must handle 100% of the transportation?

Thanks!!!

Without reading the order, I can’t give you a specific answer about the contents therein, but if the child custody order has a specific directive about transportation, you should follow it to avoid being found in contempt of the order. I would also suggest filing a motion to modify to have the court adjust this provision.
