No, an equitable distribution claim also cannot be filed after an absolute divorce is granted. Make sure that if she does try to file one that you immediately speak with an attorney about what to do. Thank you.

My absolute divorce was just granted this week. My question is this: Her attorney was supposed to file a claim for alimony by July 21. They never sent anything to the courthouse. Now, it is a month later, plus the absolute divorce was just granted. So, can her attorney still file a claim for alimony since we have already been granted a divorce?
