In order to file for an absolute divorce in North Carolina, you must file a Complaint alleging the requirements of a divorce, along with a Domestic Civil Action Cover Sheet, Civil Summons, and any other forms required by your specific county. You would then have to serve your spouse with the Complaint and Civil Summons by sheriff deputy, certified/registered mail, or acceptance of service.
