Is inheritance included as income in figuring child support

My ex wife received a huge cash inheritance this past summer. Is this amount included in her income when figuring the child support she owes me?

We have split physical custody of two minor children. I am in between jobs after getting laid off recently. I am searching for my next job but in the meantime my ex is out-earning me and yet is refusing to pay.

Also, how fast do typical child support complaints get heard in Mecklenburg County? Is it reasonable to expect a court date within 3 months?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Your ex’s inheritance is not income, and will not be factored into the child support calculation.
If you included a claim for temporary child support in your complaint, you can expect a hearing within three months, but will need to contact the clerk to schedule the same.
