Just curious

I have 50/50 custody of my son. In the Final Orders, I was ordered to pay 50% of all extracurricular and medical/dental expenses for my child. My income is much less than that of my ex-husband. My child support is pretty much on the chart for a combined income of 250,000 although the ex makes much more than that and mine is nowhere near that. Just for comparison, his income is over 400,000 per year and mine is about 65,000 a year and that includes alimony. Is this a normal “order” in a case like this? Just wondering. Doesn’t seem quite fair.

Expenses for extracurricular are often split evenly. Medical expenses can be split according to the parties’ pro rata share of income, however the judge has discretion to order those split as well.
