Legally responsible for credit card bill?

Dear rockmehardplace:

Greetings. If he created all the debt after the date of separation, no you are not responsible for any of the debt. Best of luck.

I have been physically seperated from my husband since September 3, 2004, but have not signed or filed a seperation agreement yet. He got a new credit card that he says is in his name only (I have not seen it to verify that though). I think he got it after Sep. 3, but I’m not sure - it could have been before Sep 3. He has run up quite a bill on that card. Am I legally responsible for that debt?
