Move out of state before divorce

Hi!

For the absolute divorce, the part where one of the spouses must have resided in NC for at least 6 months, does anyone know if one of them has to be in NC six months BEFORE filing the divorce or it’s okay to move as long as one of you have lived in NC at least 6 months out of that one year of separation? We have been separated since September 2017, I plan to file in October 2018 and I want to move out of state

The person filing for the absolute divorce must have resided in the State of NC for the 6 months preceding the filing of the action. This requirement does not mean that you must have lived in NC for 6 of the 12 months of separation.
