The TSERS (Teachers and State Employees Retirement System) is a pension which can only be valued by a professional financial expert.
You can compare the TSERS accounts with a printout from Orbit which states the years of credible service that count towards the TSERS benefit. If the amount of marital credible years of service is similar, you may not need to value the accounts because you may be able to agree that they are of equal value.
Some teachers and state employees also have an account equivalent to a 401(k) which is valued like any other 401(k) in that the balance in the account at the date of separation is the value for equitable distribution purposes.
