If you are trying to use a forensic accountant to determine what sums of money your Husband has paid to himself, they may be able to determine that. They may also be able to find any hidden sources of income or illegitimate transfers of income.

If you are looking for a value to be placed on this company so that it can be divided, you should retain the services of a licensed business valuator.

My husband owns 2 companies and land both are on. Both land and 1 company was acquired while we were married. I put over $80,000 into company of my pre marital earnings. He runs companies. Claims he makes MUCH less than he does. He pays himself whatever he feels like. The more I made, the less he paid himself. We now have a forensic accountant going in to go over the books. He is able to maneuver in ways to make look like less money is being brought in. Also, I was told he is writing LARGE checks to himself from the company. I have never been included in business information. Basically let him run the show and me work part time and care for kids. Married 61/2 yrs. Should I be doing more and is the FE enough?
