Post Separation Support

You should contact the clerks office or the family court office in the county where you live and ask them to assist you in putting the issue of alimony on the court calendar to be heard. This issue can be heard separate from Equitable Distribution, however it is generally done after.

My ex-spouse was awarded PSS at our child support hearing. I do not believe she should be awarded alimony because of marital fault and other reasons pursuant to the 16 enumerated factors. I do believe I prevail on this issue.

I would like to have PSS terminated or resolved with finality.

Question: How do I go about setting the PSS/Alimony issue for hearing/mediation? I was led to believe it would be addressed at equittable distribution. Is PSS/Alimony a severable and separate issue for hearing?

Thank you for your reply and insight!
