Refusal of legal seperation

There doesn’t have to be any signature. If they are refusing to sign a separation agreement, it just means that there is no agreement. There is no such thing as “legal separation” in NC. You become separated the day that you begin living separate and apart.
If they are refusing to sign the divorce papers, there is usually a 30 day response period given after papers are served and then if there has been no response, it goes to court. Basically, you would be asked if the divorce request is correct and a couple of questions about separation or ED and divorce is granted, 30-45 days after filing.

is it possible for a spouse to refuse to sign papers(legal seperation or divorce). how does one handle that?
