Requirements for medical insurance for child

Dear Deb:

Greetings. That is a question for Medicaid. I believe that they have rules about this. If the father can purchase the medical insurance I am sure a judge would make him do so rather than leave the child on Medicaid. Thank you.

The only reliable manner to obtain complete and adequate legal advice is to consult with an attorney, fully explain your situation, and allow the attorney sufficient opportunity to research the applicable law and facts required to render an accurate opinion. If a child has been on Medicaid, and now the father gets a job that provides medical insurance, is he required to purchase that insurance for his child, or can the child, who lives with the mother, stay on Medicaid?
