Health insurance coverage

Dear nwkltl:

Greetings. I am not sure if I understand why you would want to use medicaid instead of your husband’s insurance, but he has the right to keep her covered and to include the costs in the child support calculations. Best of luck.

The response posted above is based upon the limited factual information made available and is not intended as a full and complete response to the question. The only reliable manner to obtain complete and adequate legal advice is to consult with an attorney, fully explain your situation, and allow the attorney sufficient opportunity to research the applicable law and facts required to render an accurate opinion. The basic information provided above is intended as a public service but a full discussion with an attorney should be undertaken before taking any action.

My husband has been providing for his daughter’s health insurance coverage, but the cost is going up. Nothing is said in the court order about paying health insurance costs, is he obligated to keep her insured? Also, his daughter has rarely used his insurance coverage, she is also covered under medicaid.
Thank you for your time.
