I have separated from my wife, no legal papers have been filed, I still support financially (100%), and regular visits. I moved to Atlanta, my question is, if she moves to SC or GA, can I file for divorce in those states without a year long wait that is mandated in NC? We are renting a home so when she moves, will she no longer be a resident, she will move in summer so the kids won’t be in school.
You will have to ask a lawyer in SC or GA. I cannot speak as to what the law is there.
