What happens if you have no seperation agreement

If the divorce is final, you lose your opportunity for any property distribution/ED.

Child custody is a separate issue that can be addressed at any time if you feel it needs to be addressed.

A separation agreement is not necessary or required for divorce. It simply spells out property distribution issues as well as assets and debts AND can spell out custody issues.

If you have no separation agreement once the divorce is final you lose the right to ask the court to address the issue of equitable distribution and alimony. Custody issues can be addressed at any time.
