When is it time to hire a new lawyer?

Often the process of divorce is confusing, especially during litigation. You should talk directly to your attorney about your confusion, possibly even write down his/her advice so that you can review it later. If you are still having concerns, often other attorneys will provide consultations for “second opinions” in which the attorney can further explain the process and give you advice as to whether your rights are being fully protected. Remember, though in litigation you always have the ability to avoid court by coming to an agreement with your spouse.

I’ve been dealing with a divorce lawyer for about 8 months now. There are several issues I’ve needed to discuss with her, and have left messages, faxes, and emails since June 23. I’ve received no response. I just found out today my wife’s lawyer filed a reply to my counter-claim on July 9th. I actually had to call the clerk of court for this information. I’ve gotten phone calls from my wife, telling me there are now judgments against her, although money has been in escrow to pay these debts since March of this year. I’ve told my lawyer this on her answering machine. I honestly don’t know what to do now. What are my options ?

Thanks
