I will be filing for divorce soon since the one-year wait is just about to pass. I just sold my house and the closing is the day before I can file for the divorce. I will be moving to a new county just before the close of the house. Which county do I file in? Where my spouse lives or my new county of residence?
You can file in either county. You just need to alter the complaint to reflect that you are a resident of _____ county, NC and have been a resident of NC for at least 6 months preceding the filing of the action.
