Wife asking for large alimony

I cannot tell you if the alimony amount is reasonable without reviewing your entire financial situation. It sounds like it may be time for you to consult with an attorney and review the specific facts of your case with them.

Long story but here goes.

My wife and I have been separated since last Jan. During this time, no separation agreement was signed. She had an attorney draw one up asking for 1000$ monthly for 25 months which I agreed to, but for some reason she refused to sign.

During the whole year, because I didn’t want her to go through any major upheavals, I still paid anywhere from 1000-1100$ a month so she could pay rent, expenses, and car payments.

Today I get notice she changed the agreement to 1500$ for FOUR years.

Our one year of separation comes up in Jan and I urgently need to know what to do.

1500$ is half my monthly pay… I don’t know how I am supposed to live and pay my bills with paying that.
