Was separated for almost 2 years and divorced for 5 months now. Have 3 children that I have custody of. When we were married he had me stop working to be a stay at home mom. That was 3 years ago. I had a good paying job that I have a degree for. Now I’ve been looking for work in my field but they are having a problem hiring me cause of the time I stopped working.
He is taking me to court for custody and child support change. Can someone ask for alimony after the fact? He still is financially stable but due to me not being able to get hired from my time missed, can I bring up alimony when we go to court? He is also asking for me to pay his attorney fees. I’m having a problem paying my own.
Alimony claims must be asserted prior to the entry of a divorce decree.
