If you or her have filed for an absolute divorce (after being seperated for a year and one day don’t let it be filed before then by your attorney or by you or you’ll pay more fees to have it filed again because the judge will dismiss it)and the respondant/defendant does not file for equitable distribution and alimony before the response date, the defendant forfeits the right to seek alimony. If they do respond, you can still be granted the divorce, but you will still have court proceedings to determine the ED (equitable distribution).
