Alimony and taxes question

If the Alimony section in your agreement doesn’t state that the cost of healthcare premiums are deductible for you and taxable for the ex-spouse, can you not claim them as alimony in your return? It states that the monthly alimony check is deductible for me, and it states that I will continue paying for coverage until legally divorced but it doesn’t specifically state that those costs are considered alimony. Can I still claim this as a deduction on my individual return?

Any thoughts on this? Thanks!

No you cannot claim the costs as alimony unless the agreement specifically states those costs are included in the support amount.
