If you’re a dependent spouse, you can ask for alimony. I’m not sure how they determine the amount. They term is typically for 1/2 the length of the marriage (ie: married 6 years, alimony for 3). Of course everything is changable. Alimony would end if you got remarried, co-habitated less likely-died.
My husband has openly had his affair in the presence of my daughter and step-daughter (his daughter.) He abandoned us to have a relationship with her. Seperation is in the works but not final. On what grounds may I collect alimony, how is the amount determined, and for how long? Thanks!
