Answer and service waiver

one thing I could not find an answer to on your terrific web site (a great service!). if the divorce is uncontested, no children, support or other issues, and the “defendant” will file the answer and waiver form you have on the site, signed and notorized, stipulating to the divorce, accepting service, waiving defects in service, etc., is it really necessary to do service by certified mail? seems like that would be unnecessary if there’s that waiver and stipulation, redundant even, and just another emotional “item” for the person to deal with.
also, if we both agree, can we file the complaint and that answer/waiver at the same time? would that speed things up at all?
thanks!
