I have this situation and so did my now husband. The bankruptcy will not affect the other person and if it does usually a few phones calls will fix it. As long as the person in the house keeps up the payments then everything should be fine. My husband’s ex has the house and he filed for bankruptcy a few years ago and I have the same thing, I filed myself and I actually also have the house.
Generally, unless you both file for bankruptcy a house tilted as a tenancy by the entirety should not be taken in a bankruptcy. You may want to ask a bankruptcy attorney directly, as I do not practice in this area of the law.

If you an your ex spouse are still tied together with a mortgage each paying their share until the home is sold. What is one decides to file bankruptcy? What is the trickle down effect? If the other partner picks up the payments will this be in the enough to keep from losing everything?
