Can I lower child support and raise alimony to avoid taxes?

I discovered that if I lower child support and raise alimony, I can save on taxes - and it won’t affect the bottom line tax for my spouse who receives it because my spouse has more tax credits than tax.

So is it allowable to lower child support below the guidelines in Worksheet A & B in a separation agreement, as long as both sides agree to it?

Yes, child support in an agreement can be set at an amount different from the guidelines if the parties agree.
