Child Custody Consent Court Order vs Separation Agreement

My husband and I have not filed for divorce, but have meet the 1 year and 1 day requirement. All out assets have been split. We have a child whom we have worked out an agreement that we are both happy with. We would both like something in writing. Is it best to write custody issues (holidays, visitation, schooling, medical, etc…) in a child custody consent form or is it better to have this written in a separation agreement?

Thanks.

It really depends on the age on your unique circumstances, but I normally put custody an support into an agreement when the parties are still amicable and the child is a bit older. I prefer to use Orders in cases where the children are young and/or the relationship between the parties is highly contentious.
