Debt

Dear chetire:

Greetings. Yes, you will be responsible for half of all the debt created during the marriage. The court may make some concession to you due to the fact that he made the debt without your knowledge. My suggestion, although not what you want to hear, is leave now before it gets worse.

Also, if you are a stay at home mom, you are likely to get enough alimony to pay your half of the debts. Make sure to hire an attorney that is experienced with this behavior and knows how to negotiate a settlement for you. Thank you.

my husband has had very bad debt that i did not know about until we got married, and throughout the married he has made it worst. I am a stay at home mom and have not worked at all throughout the married. My question is, when we are divorced will i be responsible for half of his debt, being by i have never worked, and he is the one that cause the debt?
