I live in Wake County.

You should contact the family court office in Wake County. They can let you know how to get the information for the do it yourself child custody lawsuits. When you file a lawsuit on your own, it will take the same period of time as it would if you were represented y an attorney.

The attorney that I consulted said that it would be much cheaper for me to get a “self-service” kit for custody mediation and go to child support enforcement myself to get these things settled between me & my STBX (since her retainer is so high and I need all the money I can get). What is the process for this? How long does it generally take?
