I recently lost my job and found a new one at half the pay. Because of that I share my home to make the mortgage. I have requested that my child supprt be modified downward. Do I count the money i recieve as income for child support? All that I recieve goes stright to the morgage and utilities. thanks
Yes, rental income is included in child support calculations.
The total recieved? or the net after upkeep?
I don’t know exactly how it would work for child support, but when I used to originate mortgage loans, we counted 75% of rental income as actual income…so if someone was receiving 1,000 in rent per month, we only counted $750 of it as income…I would imagine that it might be the same???
The guidelines state that rental income is income, which presumably means all of it.
