I was just wondering does the alimony I am going to pay my STBX count as income to her? If so, then does it also count as income for her part of the child support calculations?
Alimony paid by you is not counted as income in child support calculations. However it is considered income by the IRS.
Only alimony received from persons other than those who are parties to the current action (from a former marriage) is counted as income to the recipient, it is not deductible to the paying party’s income for purposes of the CS calculation.
