Don't know where husband is and want to file for divorce

I want to file for divorce soon, but I have no idea where my husband is living so don’t know how he could be served with paperwork. What can I do, his family will not cooperate at all.

You will need to search online to try to find him. Be sure to search prison records, obituaries, real property records, and tax records starting with the county and state of his last known residence. If you have done your due diligence and still cannot locate a current address for your husband, you have serve him by publication (a legal “ad” in a newspaper) in the city/county of his last known residence.

I have searched online as much as I can without paying for a search, which I cannot afford to do. Every search comes up with his last known address still showing as if he still lives with me at my address. I’m planning on filing on my own as I can’t afford a lawyer either. I’m barely getting by as it is just doing odd jobs and haven’t been able to secure a regular job yet. He left me broke, with no job and I haven’t worked a regular job in more than 20 years. I’ve struggled for the last 10 months just to make ends meet. Will have to save up for a divorce. We will have been separated a year in November.
