Emotional and Verbal abuse

Is emotional and verbal abuse seen as domestic violence? My daughter and I have been emotionally and verbally abused for years. We are trying to get help to get out. Is Alimony a possibility?

Emotional and verbal abuse can be considered acts of domestic violence if it places you and/or your daughter in fear of continued harassment that rises to such a level that it inflicts substantial emotional distress.

You can be awarded alimony if you are the dependent spouse (you are actually and substantially dependent on your spouse for your maintenance and support) and your spouse is the supporting spouse.
