Ending of child support

Dear Fryman:

Greetings. You will pay child support until the child graduates from high school (even if that takes until the child reaches age 20). If the child reaches age 18 and stops going to highschool, you can stop paying then. In your case posted herein, it looks like you will be paying until May 2005. Thank you.

DOES CHILD SUPPORT END WHEN THE CHILD REACHES THE AGE OF 18 OR WHEN HE GRADUATES FROM HIGH SCHOOL? I THOUGHT PRIOR TO OCTOBER, 1993, CHILD SUPPORT ENDED AT 18. THE LAW NOW STATES UNTIL THE END OF HIGH SHCOOL. THE DIVORCE SETTLEMENT WAS IN 1990 AND NOW THE CHILD IS 18 BUT WILL NOT GRADUATE HIGH SCHOOL UNTIL MAY 05.
