Been divorced for 2 years and house has been on the market for 3. I’m currently paying 1/2 off the mortgage, and there is nothing incorporated in our Separation Agreement. Wondering if it is still considered Alimony and if I still need to be paying this. She remarried and therefore Alimony didn’t happen. What are my options here?
If you are required to pay ½ of the mortgage pursuant to a Separation Agreement you must continue to pay. The payments are not alimony unless they are specifically listed as alimony in the agreement.
