Extensions of time

I served my wife complaints regarding child custody/support and divorce from bed and board (extramarital affair). The divorce from bed and board is pretty cut and dry as a private investigator was involved and got the “smoking gun” so to speak. Her attorney asked for one extension (which is up at the end of Monday, July 2nd, but who’s counting…) and now has asked for another. She is still living in our home, which is obviously quite contentious and burdensome. While I’m waiting to hear back from my attorney, I thought I would ask a couple questions here. In asking for a second extension, does she have to show good cause? If so, does that good cause need to be demonstrated to a judge or the clerk? Or does my attorney have the right to grant extensions?

Thanks in advance for your help!
