Fault vs no fault divorce

My wife who admittedly had an affair wants to file a ‘no fault’ divorce over a ‘fault’ divorce. We’re trying to keep lawyers out of it but I dont want to get screwed either. I’m not going after her for money or damages or anything…what are the benefits and draw backs or filing with fault or without fault?

North Carolina is a no fault divorce state. There are no fault based grounds for divorce in this State.

Ok.

She has consulted with an attorney to draw up our S.A. However, the attorney is only speaking in ‘her best interest’ and not mine. I would like to get a neutral attorney to draw up this paperwork. Is this possible? Where can I go?

Attorneys cannot represent both sides in a domestic issue. I would recommend you take the document to a lawyer to review it from your perspective before you sign the Agreement.
