I guess they can’t. Folks have used lease agreements, and electricity bills to show dates. If you both lie and both keep the lie, then I guess they wouldn’t know. But I advise you not to. You’re sworn under oath in court to claim the separation date if I’m not mistaken.
It means that you have committed perjury and that your divorce is invalid. It will invalidate any future marriage and place you in jeopardy of being prosecuted for bigamy. Just don’t do it.

Whats happens if you both agree to tell alittle lie so it can be over sooner that a year. I have been married for 18 years, believe me its over. I want a clean cut asap. I realize that you are supposed to wait a year but how can anybody prove the day you were actually seperated if nothing has to be filed.
