Insurance coverage while still married

my spouse has always carried us in his med insurance. Divorce proceedings have not yet been initiated (as far as I know), and he has not yet said anything about kicking me off of his insurance. Would you recommend that I go ahead and remove myself…sign up for individual coverage through my job. My company’s Open Enrollment process ends this Friday, so I’m just curious. Is it more advantageous for me to wait until I HAVE to get my own?

He should keep you on his health insurance coverage until an absolute divorce judgment is entered.

This is especially true if you are dependent spouse and have to incur the expense of health insurance coverage when he has routinely and historically provided your health insurance throughout the marriage.
