Legal right to have a lawyer

do I have a legal right to representation in a divorce case? My wife has been attempting to serve me with divorce papers. She is making demands that I consider to be unfair to me. she is requesting that I pay for her attorney. I am unemployed and homeless. I cannot afford an attorney. I have repeatedly insisted that I am unable to proceed until I can hire an attorney. Just need to know what my rights are. Thank you.

You have a right to be represented, but claims for divorce, spousal support, equitable distribution, child custody, and child support are not actions in which the state must provide you with counsel.
