Living out of country - where should we divorce

My wife and I are going to divorce. She is having an affair - she has admitted this to me. We currently live in the UK but have property in North Carolina and are tax payers there - this was our last state of residence in the US.

My wife is an American citizen and I am a british citizen and an american citizen.

We have lived out of North Carolina for about 11 years. We also own a house and have other assets in the UK. Both of our children adults. What are considerations whether we divorce in the UK or North Carolina?

As she had an affair I would prefer to do it in North Carolina as I do not want to have to pay alimony.

NC does not have jurisdiction of you and your ex personally so the divorce and alimony actions cannot proceed in this State.
