Medical bills just before seperation date

I suspect that a judge would divide the debt on your surgery and refuse to divide the debt for his given the timing of each debt.

Good luck.

In September of last year I had an emergency tonsilectomy. I am the dependent spouse. My husband left our 14 year marriage January 21 of this year just because he said he’s not happy. Is he responsible for the unpaid medical bills on the tonsilectomy?
Also, On the day before he left the marriage, he had Lazer eye surgery. Is there any way for that expense to be removed or ignored when it come to equitable distribution of debt? I’m not sure about if it was the day of or the day before he left the marriage.
Thank you for your response,
Jackie
