Pay half of medical bills

My youngest son has to have surgery and the copay is $200. My soon to be exwife wants me to pay half of the copay. She makes almost three times the amount I make in salary and already has a court ordered child support payment. My question is this: Do I have to pay half? I told her that I would pay a portion of the bill that is equal to our salaries, since she makes so much more than I, it isn’t right for me to have to pay half.

Whether or not you have to pay half of co-pays and other medical bills not covered by insurance will depend upon the language of your Order. Often, both parents will have to each pay one-half of the child’s uninsured medical costs but I cannot say if this is the case for you.
