Both the NC Child Support Calculator and Rosen should be pretty close. Rosen is easier to use. You figure in day care and health insurance IF you pay them. With the health insurance that would probably be part of your separation agreement. Remember, changing support and changing custody are two different issues. Your custody agreement (# of overnights) will be used to determine the child support.
My ex husband is paying daycare and health insurance premiums, I pay him child support. We agreed on me paying him $300 a month since I only see them every other weekend, my work and school schedule is really hectic and stressful. I only take them three or four weeks in the summer so worksheet A should apply. The numbers are very different - NC says I would owe $335, but Rosen’s calculator says $513 !
I tried two different scenarios using both calculators and the numbers came out the same. The only suggestion I can make is that you did not enter the numbers in correctly when you were filling in the parameters.

Ms. Nevicosi, Could you please try running the numbers again using our incomes? He has primary custody, I get visitation so I am using “A” I only make $1376 per month. My ex makes $3167 month but he also pays for the childcare ($300 per month)and their part of health insurance (about $100 per month). Try as I might, I can’t get the numbers to come out anywhere near the same. Your website makes me pay part of their health insurance and daycare, and the NC website calculator doesn’t. I don’t know which numbers are right Thank you!
here’s what comes up when I ran the Rosen calculator - based on every other weekend + 4 wks in summer and the other figures you gave. THe amount that you should be paying your ex is the $434.66…it should be pretty close to this w/ the state site. The difference may be in how you are figuring overnights. If you want the children more you will have to change the custody order and also modify support.

6. TOTAL CHILD SUPPORT OBLIGATION $1,435.00
7. EACH PARENT’S SUPPORT OBLIGATION $434.66 $1,000.34
8. NONCUSTODIAL PARENT ADJUSTMENT $0.00 $0.00
9. RECOMMENDED CHILD SUPPORT ORDER $434.66
I do not know how many children you have, so I assumed two. Running the child support guidelines is not something we will generally do on the forum and is a matter that is usually better handled in an initial consultation. I do not know why you are getting different numbers with both websites. I ran the numbers assuming you have two children and the child support number I came up with was $434.31. I believe you may be entering the data incorrectly on our website and entered that you were paying daycare and not your spouse.

I am not sure if this is the correct forum, but I will ask anyway. The child support calculator and the one on the NC Child Support Website come up with different figures. I only make 1400 per month, and I have two kids with my ex. The Rosen calculator has me paying part of the kid’s daycare and health insurance, the NC calculator just uses my income alone.
Which are the right numbers??? I want to know before I talk to my ex about the kids living with me again, they need their momma! Thanks
